With the aim of continuing to promote a culture of recycling, on Saturday, October 26, the second edition of the Reciclamanía program will be held in 20 Bodega Aurrera, Superama and Walmart stores , from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Mexico City, Nuevo León and Querétaro.
Reciclamanía is an initiative to reduce Chile Mobile Number List the generation of waste, through the recycling of packaging once used, to prevent it from being sent to landfills. This program arises thanks to the joint work of companies such as Walmart de México y Centroamérica , Biobox, Colgate Palmolive, Dow, Ecolana, Grupo AlEn, Grupo Bimbo, Grupo Modelo, Grupo Lala, Grupo Nestlé México, The Network of Food Banks in Mexico, L'Oréal México, Mustela México, Tetra Pak México and Unilever, whose actions contribute to minimizing the environmental impact.
During this edition, interested people will only be able to bring the materials most used in their home to the parking lot of the participating Bodega Aurrera, Superama and Walmart stores on October 26 . The materials, which include: personal hygiene and cleaning products, water or soft drink containers, wrappers, coffee capsules, glass bottles for food products, laminated cardboard containers, toothpaste tubes and toothbrushes, will be classified and deposited in the corresponding modules according to the type of waste to which they belong and finally they will be transferred to recyclers for transformation into new products.
For each piece of materials collected, participating companies will donate products in kind to vulnerable communities through the Network of Food Banks in Mexico, thus contributing to improving the quality of life of Mexican families.
In the first edition of Reciclamanía , which took place in April 2019, 1,470 kg of container and packaging waste that was recycled were collected, of which 640 kg were plastics such as PET, HDPE, LDPE and BOPP, 721 kg of glass and 109 kg of laminated cardboard and aluminum.
“After the success of the first edition of Reciclamanía , we committed to continue joining efforts together with our strategic partners, in order to reduce the generation of waste, as well as promote a culture of recycling to minimize damage to the environment. We trust that our customers participate in this program so that together we contribute to positively impact the planet,” commented Gabriela Buenrostro, Spokesperson for Walmart in Mexico and Central America .
